My Running Music

I try to keep music on my iPod that is around 110 bpm or higher so it helps keep me moving at the right pace.  I also keep music of a lower tempo for the first few songs so I don’t start out a race too fast.

I’m surprised at how much music I listen to while running that I wouldn’t listen to on a regular basis….I’m just not a big Kelly Clarkson or Marilyn Manson fan, but those two songs work on the run.

I repeat a few of my favorite songs from The Black Eyed Peas & Flo Rida so they come up again at opportune times like when I need a boost of energy to keep going. I plan my playlist based off of what I need to be doing during certain points of my run.  So I might add a “slower song” around mile 14 during a marathon for example just to get a two minute pace rest.

Would love to see your comments as to other songs you like to run to!  What’s on your playlist?
